I think Matt Coddington paid John Chow $100 to review his site and got him started on a very successful blog. Of course Matt still had to produce solid content - but getting that initial surge of traffic was a huge boost! I know John and Matt were doing some blog rolls in exchange for a review of their site - but getting a dedicated blog review from John or even Matt would be a good use of $100.
